Bold and Beautiful Kitchen Design

With its long barrel-vaulted ceiling and ornate hand painted tile backsplash high to Mexico, this space is a room next to the cathedral of Spanish cuisine. Located in San Marino, California, 1920 Spanish Revival house, the kitchen is part of a recent addition. The design team was tasked to keep the original architecture and keeping the Spanish Renaissance. Using a barrel vault, provides an excellent base for keeping the roots of home design. Simple Mexicans decorate the ceiling tile, oak cabinets and walls and kitchen island. Cream of terracotta tiles and colors were used on the dashboard and the top cover. "Often, the historic Mexican cuisine that the use of these tiles is a quasi-random use of models and colors ... we used a wide range of existing models to create our own unique design to fit the space," says designer Matthew White.
